What is BLS training?
Basic Life Support, or BLS, refers to emergency cardiovascular care that first responders, healthcare professionals and public safety personnel provide to someone who is experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress or choking.
Who is required to have BLS training?
Most medical providers including doctors, nurses, medical assistants, dental professionals, firefighters and police officers are usually required to obtain BLS training and certification.
Can BLS Certification be obtained on-line?
Since we are American Heart Association Instructors, we offer a blended learning opportunity according to the AHA guidelines. The class can be taken at https://cpr.heart.org and we can provide the required in-person skills testing portion of the class and issue your BLS Course Completion Card to present to your employer or representing board.

- How to perform high-quality CPR for an adult, a child, and an infant
- How to use an AED
- Effective team dynamics in a multi rescuer resuscitation
- How to treat special considerations in basic life support

What are the course completion requirements for the BLS Provider Course?
In order to receive a Basic Life Support Course Completion Card, participants must complete the following:
- Participate in hands-on demonstrations of high-quality CPR skills
- Pass the Adult CPR and AED Skills Test
- Pass the Infant CPR Skills Test
- Score at least 84% on the written exam

Our course fee INCLUDES the BLS Provider Manual, no hidden costs! However, if you are taking the on-line portion, the electronic manual is included in the price of the Heartcode® course.
Is there a written exam in a BLS Course?
How do I obtain my BLS Course Completion Card?
Cards are issued electronically once all course requirements are met. If your training was done with CPR Training Team, your AHA card can be retrieved at cprtrainingteam.com by scrolling to the View or Verify My E-card Now tab.
